Janet Jackson does it up close

Janet Jackson has announced dates for the North American leg of her Number Ones: Up Close and Personal World Tour. Starting with a two night stint in Chicago on March 7 and 8, Janet will be winding through the Midwest, Canada, New England, and a couple of dates in the South before concluding this leg of the tour on the West Coast and a final stop in Las Vegas on April 22 and 23. "I thank my fans who have voted and helped me choose the cities we are announcing today. Each of you are so important to me. These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I'll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you've made number ones for me. Let's go!" Tuesday, January 04, 2011 Manila date added to the Number Ones World Tour Posted on 1/04/2011 10:03:00 PM ET A fourth date has been added to Janet's upcoming Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour. This time it's Manila. According to the Philippines Ticketworld website, the show will be performed at the PICC Plenary Hall on Friday, February 4th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 7th. This date now becomes the earliest announced show of the tour. The other three cities that have been announced are Singapore on February 7, Hong Kong on February 14, and Taipei on February 19. Monday, January 03, 2011 Taipei concert added to itinerary for Number Ones Tour Posted on 1/03/2011 11:17:00 PM ET Janet will perform a concert in Taipei on February 18 while on her upcoming Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour, it was announced this evening. Tickets for the show, which will take place at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, will go on sale January 8 on G-Music Tickets. "This is my first concert ever in Taipei, and I can't wait to share the love and rock it out," she said on her website. "There will be special changes in this show to honor the culture and beautiful people of Taiwan." This is the third city announced so far for the tour, which will visit a total of 35 cities throughout the world, equal to the number of tracks on her Number Ones album. The other two cities that have been revealed are Singapore on February 7 and Hong Kong on February 14.
